and all types of parties have been held there. But the special
one that everyone remembers, is the prom, who went to Wirt

GARY TO CLOSE 12 SCHOOLS - THIS MEANS WIRT!
Facing a massive budget shortfall and crumbling school buildings, the Gary School Board voted unanimously to enact a restructuring plan that will close 12 schools, including Wirt High School, and place middle and high school students in the same buildings beginning in fall 2009.

FATHER JACQUES MARQUETTE
The famous statue of Father Jacques Marquette, located in
Marquette Park, just a block away from the property of William
A. Wirt High School. How many people have really taken the
time to walk around the statue? Look at the artistic curves
and angles, in the statue? This statue will be with us forever,
and it will always be the center piece of our great park in
Miller. Check it out!
